Itasca county is offering a zero-interest septic loan, paid back through the property tax system—like a street assessment for sidewalks/curbs, etc in the cities. In addition, ICOLA has negotiated a group discount rate for lake shore owner inspections and with the help of a grant from Itasca Waters the first fourteen inspections of pre-1996 systems will be subsidized by ICOLA to make them no cost for the lake shore owner.
